Here we go again! A new season is just around the corner and all the news and rumors about Ibiza 2015 are starting to spread around the internet. No big changes so far have been confirmed which means we can only make assumptions about the djs « mercato » but it’s fun and exciting to think about the beautiful summer ahead.
From what we know at this point, most of the big clubs should keep pretty much the same line-ups as each major club tries to build its own identity around a musical genre.
The now worldwide famous open air venue, Ushuaia Ibiza beach club should embrace the « EDM » style more than ever keeping on board David Guetta, Avicii and Hardwell. The only underground event that will remain for sure is their own production and success « Ants » which have been one of the locals favorite in 2014.
Nothing major should change at the most awarded club Space as Carl Cox, Richie Hawtin and We love are all supposed to come back once again in Playa d’en bossa. Let’s see what Space will do on fridays and wednesdays as these nights are the ones with room for something fresh.
So, which changes are most likely to happen in Ibiza 2015 ?
The underground scene has now two established homes : DC10 & Sankeys. When everything should remain the same at DC10, new comers are expected at Sankeys. Despite Diynamic loss, Sankeys had a very sucessful 2014 season with the Viva warriors or Tribal sessions, both confirmed to be returning to Sankeys.
One of the biggest rumor is Simon Dunmore legendary house label Defected could be a part of Sankeys’s line up in 2015. As Boom will probably not reopen, it would definitely makes sense to see Defected at Sankeys.
Just like Space, Pacha strongest nights should remain the same or maybe just switch days but expect to have Solomun, Steve Aoki and David Guetta all back at the cherries club in Talamanca. Flower Power was one of Pacha’s strongest nights last season so you will be able to dress again like a hippie during your 2015 Ibiza holidays !
Nothing is certain about Eden in San antonio as 2014 was a complete disaster for its recent dutch owner Michael Van De Kuit. After last year’s failure with Gatecrasher, we all hope for San antonio that Eden will reopen with some fresh and exciting new events.
Now let’s talk about San rafael’s legend : Amnesia ! After three amazing seasons, will the italian techno superstar Marco Carola return to Amnesia ? We all remember that he surprised everybody by playing a 12h marathon set for Ushuaia closing in october. It is more likely to see « Music On » back at Amnesia despite the rumors from the end of last season.
One of the most exciting rumour circulating about Amnesia 2015 line up is the one that suggests Loco Dice would host his own party in association with the German based promoter Hyte. Hyte has produced successful events with the likes of Ten Walls, Chris Leibing, Ricardo Villalobos, Laurent Garnier and super french trio Apollonia !
If this turns out to be true, Amnesia would have to promote three Techno parties at the Club which would mean even more competition for Sven Vath and Cocoon retuning for its 16th seasons !
