Description: Close to the resort of Es Cana you’ll find the Cala Nova, a wide, long curve of sandy beach. It has blissfully shallow waters over clean, golden sand which extend quite a way into the sea – thus making it a very family friendly beach.
The surrounding scenery is wild and natural with a little pine covered hill to the left for energetic walks. It’s beautiful even in bad weather, but be careful as the spectacular breakers make the undercurrents particularly dangerous – and heed any warnings. It is very popular with the few yet dedicated surfers on the island.
Facilities: A well established restaurant on the beach offers a lovely ambience, whilst its new trendier neighbour offers a wide terrace and modern dishes.
Directions: by car, follow road to San Carlos then to Cala Leña. It is accessible on foot or bike from Es Cana which is only several hundred meters away.
